Monarch^TM is a great tool for bringing report data to life, so you can search through it, calculate new values, slice-and-dice through the data, and even export the data to Excel. That’s why it’s the data-transformation tool of choice of 400,000 users all over the world -- you can say that it's the sales data analysis version of investools - effective but founded on simple premises.

There are just a few limitations of Monarch that can be very frustrating.

Compared to Excel, its charts are limited. And, you can’t export the charts to Excel. If you want to create charts for a presentation, you have to build them all over again in Excel.

You can’t open multiple Monarch models in a single session. So you can’t create “dashboards” that show several key indicators in a single screen.

It can be a major effort to assemble data from a year’s worth of reports into a session, in order to do an analysis of trends. And, when you close the session, you could lose the data that took so much effort to collect.

dashMX^TM is tightly integrated with Monarch and Excel, so you can enjoy all those new features right out of the box! A few clicks of the mouse, and you will be working with interactive Excel dashboards. Drill-down to the details behind the charts, and explore how trends vary over different key values.

How it Works

If you already have Monarch, you just need to start dashMX^TM, pick out a Monarch model, select a summary from the model (or the model’s table), and one report that the model works on. dashMX^TM connects to Monarch in the background, and gets the definitions and the data from it. dashMX^TM stores all this into its “repository,” so you never again have to open the report for another session. Repeat this as many times as you want. The dashMX^TM repository can hold hundreds of reports worth of data, from hundreds of Monarch summaries and models.

Once you have the report data in the repository, it takes only a few clicks of the mouse to chart the data, and another click or two to bring multiple charts together into a dashboard. Create as many dashboards as you want.

As new reports arrive, select them, and dashMX^TM will add their data to the data already in the repository. The new data updates all related dashboards.

Extensible and Customizable

dashMX^TM uses Excel workbooks as templates that determine the structure and format of its output. dashMX^TM comes with a set of standard spreadsheets you can use right out of the box. But, you can create your own templates. Use the full power of Excel charts, pictures, formulas, macros and other Excel features to construct your own dashboard templates. You are limited only by Excel, itself.
